Hello & Welcome!

This digital book, Always Christopher, Never Chris, is a heartfelt reflection on my journey and the significance of embracing my full name. Through these stories, you'll discover how my name has shaped my identity, purpose, and leadership presence.

Why a Digital Book?

Let me be transparent: I originally envisioned this as a printed book. However, after thoughtful conversations with people in my network, I realized something important: this book is alive. A printed version would freeze it in time.

By sharing it digitally, I can continue to evolve alongside it. As I experience the world, learn new things, and shift perspectives, I’ll update this space to reflect who I am: Always Christopher.

How the Stories Flow

So, how will you get to know me through this book?

I’ve spent time reflecting on how I want to introduce myself. As someone in midlife and at the height of my career, I didn’t want this to feel like a farewell memoir. Instead, think of it as a series of personal snapshots; each one offering a glimpse into different parts of my life and personality.

The chapters aren’t arranged in strict chronological order. While there’s a general timeline, many of the lessons I share began early in life and continue to unfold. I’ve organized these reflections around key themes:

  • I am Christopher: strategic, curious, and unapologetically whole. My story is shaped by the names I have been called, the ones I have reclaimed, and the ones I have chosen. I lead with clarity, challenge assumptions with care, and show up fully, even when it disrupts expectations.

  • I have learned that identity is not static: it is layered, evolving, and deeply personal. Through moments of misrecognition, resilience, and reflection, I have come to understand that belonging begins with self-definition. Every lesson has taught me to lead with both heart and spine.

  • I see the world as a place where systems shape stories, and stories can, in turn, shape systems. I believe in progress that’s measurable and human, in leadership that’s intentional and inclusive, and in the power of naming as a tool for visibility, dignity, and change.

  • I lead as a Sage-Rebel: with insight, integrity, and a willingness to say the hard thing. My leadership is strategic and people-focused, grounded in frameworks and fueled by lived experience. I challenge norms not for disruption’s sake, but to build cultures where everyone can thrive.

You’re invited to explore the chapters in any order. Some stories trace arcs that span decades. Others zoom in on pivotal moments, offering insights into what I learned then and how I interpret those lessons now.

A Living Story

This digital book is alive: it grows with me. Each chapter reflects not only my past but also my ongoing journey. Some stories are complete; others are still unfolding, shaped by new experiences and insights. Growth is not linear, so you may notice chapters evolve as I revisit them with fresh perspectives.

Many lessons here are a work in progress as I continue to examine my own biases and privileges, striving to use my voice for lasting change. These reflections are not final declarations, but honest attempts to lead with integrity.

If you return to a chapter and find something new, it is by design. This is a living record of my journey as Christopher: a space for curiosity and transformation. May it inspire you to see your own story as ever-changing, too.
